Managing Your Online Digital Persona

multiplepeopleIs your online persona consistent across your social network?  When one starts to engage in social networking, especially for the purpose of marketing, it is important to ensure your persona is the same on all sites.  If you have a Facebook account, MySpace account, Twitter account and a LinkedIn account it stands to reason all of your profile information and profile photos are the same on each network.  It could be confusing to visit one profile and see your business look (LinkedIn) and then go over to MySpace and see your alter ego. If you do have an alter ego that you prefer to keep separate from your “official” online persona, be sure to take steps to separate those completely. Just because  you present a professional appearance on LinkedIn or Facebook doesn’t mean people want to see your “girls gone wild” or “boys gone wild” video clip on another social site.

Remember – keep your online personal consistant and professional
